Elders for Elders (Upcoming)
India is home to a rapidly expanding elderly population rich in life experience, professional expertise, and social wisdom. Yet, much of this collective knowledge remains underutilised due to the absence of structured platforms and meaningful engagement opportunities. Post-retirement, many elders also experience isolation, a loss of purpose, and limited avenues for social participation. Elders for Elders is founded on a simple but powerful belief: elders are not dependents—they are contributors. When organised around their interests and supported through technology, elders can actively contribute to fellow seniors, youth, corporates, and society at large. The Core Objectives of the project are
- Organise Senior Citizen Associations around shared interests and strengths
- Build a sustainable online knowledge-sharing and learning ecosystem
- Create support systems for dependent and vulnerable elders
- Identify, nurture, and mobilise elder resource persons and connect them with corporates, youth, children, and social causes
- Enable elders to actively engage in social, civic, and environmental issues
Over the coming years, Nischinta plans to work closely with Senior Citizen Associations (SCAs) across Hyderabad. The project adopts a unique, phased approach—strengthening associations step by step and guiding them through progressive stages of engagement, leadership, and social contribution.
